Handmade Tonga - Weave, Tapa & Carve in One Day

Handmade Tonga - Weave, Tapa & Carve in One Day

Three crafts, three treasures - and every one of them made by you.

This is Tonga's ultimate hands-on cultural experience: one immersive workshop, three traditional crafts, three handmade souvenirs to take home. Choose one creation from each category - weaving, tapa and carving - and bring it to life with the guidance of skilled local artists, using techniques passed down through generations.

Weave a bowl, a vibrant sei flower, earrings or a bracelet. Design your own tapa sei flower, a decorative angel, candlenut soap or a personalised notebook. Then finish with the showpiece: carve your own wooden hook or shape a whale fluke from bone.

With free hotel pick-up and drop-off, a light lunch around the workshop table, and a relaxed pace that suits every age and skill level, the hardest part of the day is deciding what to make. No experience needed - just curious hands.
